As part of Upskill, participants will work developing the new musical BLING. Inspired by the ‘Bling Ring’ and their multiple thefts of the houses of celebrities in 2000s Hollywood by Elliot Clay (Composer & Lyricist) and Tori Allen-Martin (Writer).
It’s 2008, season two of ‘The Kardashians’ is airing, Britney’s made her comeback and a group of teenagers are about to steal $3 million worth of belongings from A-list celebrity’s Hollywood mansions. Inspired by unbelievably true events and with banging noughties-pop inspired tunes, BLING is the ultimate Hollywood heist story and a hilarious deep dive into our celeb-worshipping culture.
The creative team on this project also includes Benjamin McQuigg (Musical Director), Xolani Crabtree (Choreographer) and Aaron Newland Bentley (Industry Workshop Leader).
