Suvidha (Suvi) joins BYMT as South Asian Outreach Specialist, working on the development of Bollywood Rose, a new British Bollywood musical designed to amplify South Asian voices and increase access to the arts for young people aged 11–21 across West Yorkshire. In this role, she leads community engagement activity, building partnerships with South Asian organisations, schools, businesses and cultural leaders, while helping to design and deliver workshops, recruitment activity and audience development strategies. Her work supports young people to shape the production creatively, strengthens community representation in the arts, and helps build sustainable networks and opportunities beyond the project’s initial development and future touring life.
She is the key point of contact for partners, educators, community leaders and young people interested in engaging with BYMT and Bollywood Rose.
She is passionate about art and enjoys engaging communities and families in innovative, creative, and fun activities. She is well-travelled, which has enabled her to develop an inclusive approach to her work, whilst also having a rich appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures and traditions.
