About Bollywood rose the musical
Bollywood Rose is an original British Bollywood Musical which will be curated, written and performed by artists and young participants. It will go on to have a further life as a professional production, touring nationally to celebrate and tell this story rooted in the South Asian community.
Writer Sumerah Srivastav and composer Ajay Srivastav have been developing this idea since 2016; Bollywood Rose tells the story of a young, British Asian single mother, who becomes trapped in a Bollywood film. Having de-railed the storyline, she has to fix what she has broken, including herself, so she can return to her daughter and change her own story.
