Airlie works as a Performer, Theatre Maker and Producer.

As a performer, Airlie has worked in theatre, musicals, light opera, jazz and cabaret performing all round the UK, in the Westend, on Broadway, all round Europe, in the USA and South Africa.

Performing work includes Gertrude in “Hamlet” for TNT / ADGE, Prudy Pingleton in ‘Hairspray the Musical” and “Flight: Dare to Dream” (RCCL Productions). Previous work includes Miss Jones ‘Rising Damp” Classic Comedy Productions, Doris Day “Wonderful Day” (UK Tour), Baker’s Wife “Into the Woods” and “Beauty and the Beast” Byre Theatre, St. Andrews, “The Constant Wife” Lyric Westend, “Neighbourhood Watch” SJT Company, “Lord of the Flies”, “Harold and Maude”, “A Christmas Carol” TNT / ADGE, and “Merrily we Roll Along” (RAM) and “Side by Side by Sondheim” Landor Theatre and numerous operas with G&S Opera Company and D’Oyly Carte Opera. TV and Film work includes the film “One Chance”(David Frankel, Weinstein Films). As a  jazz singer, Airlie gigs and tours with her bands “Pronto Swing’ and “The Hot Jazz Vagabonds”. She has co-produced theatre shows and tours around the UK.

As a director, Airlie has directed three summer projects for BYMT- “Tales of the Jazz Age”, “T’was a Dickens of a Murder”, and “The Juniper Tree” and loves working with young people and devising new Musical theatre.

She is currently working on a outdoor production of  “A Midsummer NIght’s Dream” this July for Brackley Youth Theatre and a summer pantomime for Camphill Chyrsalis Theatre. She also works as a Drama practitioner training teachers for Royal Opera House “Create and Sing” Opera projects.

For Summer Music on the Shannon/in Galway Festival in Ireland Airlie directed three youth operas: “The Green Children” by Nicola Lefanu,  “Eloise” by Karl Jenkins and “Deep Waters” by Cecila McDowall and Christie Dickason.
