Rachel Birch-Lawson

Rachel directs and choreographs movement-based work within dance, theatre, opera, and music theatre.
She trained at London Contemporary Dance School (BA Hons), European choreographic programme Dance Beyond Borders (Germany, Belgium, Portugal, UK), and Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance (MFA), where she was a Leverhulme Arts Scholar.
Rachel’s work has been performed across the UK, Europe and Africa, supported by organisations including Arts Council England, Kent County Council, the British Council, South East Dance, DanceEast, and Gulbenkian. She has created work for companies including Garsington Opera, Cahoots NI, and Tangled Feet, and has taught at universities and conservatoires around the world.
She is currently a Teaching Fellow in Dance and Movement at Guildford School of Acting, and lectures and supervises on the MA/MFA Choreography Programme at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance. She is also movement consultant for Theatretrain.
