BYMT RELAUNCH HEART OF THE INDUSTRY CAMPAIGN
STRENGHTENING EFFORTS TO BRING YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ALL BACKGROUNDS TO THE STAGE
British Youth Music Theatre (formerly Youth Music Theatre UK) the leading musical theatre charity for young people, have just relaunched HEART OF THE INDUSTRY, a campaign supported by those in the theatre industry, that raises funds towards bursaries and commissioning costs. Fundraising is vital to BYMT’s continued existence and efforts to create ground-breaking new music theatre, ensuring young people from all backgrounds can be part of it. The target to raise is £50,000.
BYMT are asking for donations of £500 (individual) or £1000 (business), to enable young performers from low-income families to take part; and allow writers and composers to create new material for the British theatre industry. Heart of the Industry supporters are given a credit and receive invites to BYMT shows, as well as salon events with exclusive performances.
Zoë Wanamaker, BYMT’s patron for over 10 years and supporter of the Heart of the Industry campaign said:
“For the past 15 years, British Youth Music Theatre has not only provided high-quality music theatre but more fundamentally it has helped raise hundreds of children's creative aspirations. I guarantee that every participant will continue to reap the benefits of those experiences, deep into their adult lives.”
