Join Our Pastoral Team
Become part of a compassionate team that ensures every young person at BYMT feels safe, supported and cared for throughout their time with us.Â
At British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT), we hold a significant responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our young people. Most of our projects take place in residential settings during school holidays – in theatres, schools and venues across the UK.
For many participants, this is their first time staying away from home, so our pastoral staff play a vital role in ensuring that every young person feels supported, confident and cared for throughout their time with us. Our pastoral teams are experienced, caring and creative individuals who help each project run smoothly and ensure that our young people have the best possible experience.
Working collaboratively alongside our artistic and production teams, pastoral staff help to create a positive, inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. They are often the first people our participants meet on arrival and are available throughout each project to make sure every young person gets the most from their experience.
Pastoral team members are expected to show the same care, attention and responsibility as a trusted parent or guardian – ensuring that each young person’s individual needs are met and their wellbeing is prioritised at all times.
If you’re interested in joining our pastoral team, we’d love to hear from you! Find out how to apply below.
