About Sophie

Sophie Boyce is an NYC-based writer, originally from London UK. She has most recently been honoured as a Dramatist Guild Fellow (2025) and Winner of the Richard Rodgers Award (2025), the Eric H Weinberger Librettist Award (2025), the Eugene O’Neill NMTC (2023) and Finalist for the Kleban Prize for Lyricism. Her original works include The Dark Lady (with Veronica Mansour), The Forty Elephants (with Einar Adalsteinsson) and Unglamorous (with Fred Feeney).

Sophie has an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU and is an alum of the BMI Bookwriters Workshop. Prior to her move to theatre, Sophie was a member of the Writers Room for the UK television series, ‘Skins’, as well as Founder/Director of the acclaimed UK Musical Theatre Program, Spirit YPC, which under her direction has attracted over 150 Million viewers to their online performance videos.
