About Isabella

Isabella Waldron (she/her) is an Oregon raised, London based playwright with a passion for intergenerational stories. Her work often explores themes of loneliness, home, and what we do in the face of disaster. Her work holds tenderness at its heart as a radical act.

She was recently shortlisted for the 2024 George Devine award and has been selected for the upcoming Inspire Programme with the Hampstead Theatre. Her plays for young audiences have featured with Nottingham Playhouse and Southwark Playhouse. Other work has been seen at Camden People’s Theatre, Bomb Factory Theatre, Portland Actors’ Conservatory, 24 Hour Plays, Here Arts (NYC), Omnibus Theatre, The Egg Theatre, Orleans Gallery, Golden Goose Theatre & more. Plays Jawbone, Things I Never Told The Stars & Chatter were selected as semi-finalists for the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, the Bay Area Playwrights’ Foundation and Papatango Prize. Her play how to build a wax figure was published with Methuen and sold out a run at the Pleasance in 2022 (ACE-funded).
