Adam Cooper is a renowned dancer and choreographer. Adam was First Artist and Soloist at the Royal Ballet in 1991, and Principal Dancer in 1994. In 1995, Adam joined Matthew Bourne for his radical re-interpretation of Swan Lake. Together they created the swan movement motifs, and Adam went on to perform as the lead role of Swan/Stranger all over the world. This won him multiple awards, including the Time Out Award, Evening Standard Award Dance Award, and the Astaire Award for Best Dancer. The role was featured in Billy Elliot (2000), where Cooper played Adult Billy.
Since then, Adam has worked as a choreographer in numerous venues, including with the Scottish Ballet, Royal Ballet, Exeter Festival, Sadler’s Wells, and on the West End.
