Jida Akil is a Syrian/Lebanese set & costume designer.
She graduated from Central Saint Martins with First Class Honours and has worked with notable companies such as the Young Vic, National Theatre, and Complicité. Her designs have also gained international acclaim in exhibitions for the Prague Quadrennial and World Stage Design.Jida also works as a facilitator & mentor.
Jida is passionate about platforming stories of the global majority.
She will be working as the set & costume designer on BYMT’s upcoming production of Worn Out at LOWRY this August.
