Vanessa trained as a theatre designer and worked extensively across scenography, community arts, and arts administration before becoming a full-time writer and producer.
She writes for a wide variety of people and spaces. Her work has been performed in theatres, art galleries and museums, community spaces, coal vaults, beneath a ring road, in an award-winning bungalow, and at Latitude. She is strongly committed to work that is formally challenging and politically engaged.
During 2025-2026 she is taking part in Britten Pears Arts ‘Future Leaders Retreat’.
