Luke Byrne is an Australian composer, musical director and pianist. He has written and performed with leading Australian companies including for the Sydney Theatre Company on The Harp in the South, Muriel’s Wedding and Chimerica. Luke’s first musical Between the Sea and Sky was selected for the 2018 New York Musical Festival where it won five awards including Outstanding Score and Best Musical. Luke lived in London from 2021-2023 where he was resident composer and musical director at LAMDA and a Fellow with the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and The Oxford Research Centre for the Humanities (TORCH). Luke’s choral music is performed around the world and he has worked with many youth music organisations, schools and choirs.
