Grace Chapple is an early career writer based between London and Sydney. Grace completed her MFA in Writing for Performance at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2020. Her graduate play, NEVER CLOSER, premiered professionally in 2024 at Belvoir Street Theatre – a transfer from the 25A program in 2022. NEVER CLOSER has been shortlisted for the Griffin Award, the Rodney Seaborn Award, longlisted for Theatre503’s International Playwriting Award, and was a finalist in the Shane & Catherine Brennan Playwriting Award. In 2023 Grace was selected to participate in Sydney Theatre Company’s Watershed: Writers’ group; a professional development program for emerging playwrights. She is represented by HLA Management and is currently under commission for Belvoir Street Theatre.
