About Einar

Einar Adalsteinsson is a composer, actor, and director from Reykjavik, Iceland. His work spans both original musicals and translations, including Icelandic translations of Into the Woods and Fun Home, each produced multiple times. His original works include The Forty Elephants (with Sophie Boyce), LoveStar (with Joey Barreiro) as well as collaborations on Devoted Yours (with Kieran Knowles) and Creatures of Fear (with abs wilson).

As an actor and director, Einar has worked across theatre, television, radio, and film in both Iceland and Europe. His writing has been developed in Iceland, the UK, and the U.S. He holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU, where he received the Horace W. Goldsmith, Mel Silverman, and Jan Pearce Fellowships, and a BA in Acting from LAMDA, supported by the John Thaw Foundation Fellowship.
