Amara Okereke is an actress, who recently starred in MY FAIR LADY
as Eliza Doolittle at The Coliseum. She has also starred as Wendla in SPRING AWAKENING at The Almeida, directed by Rupert Goold, and Cassie in the original West End production of 13 THE MUSICAL, directed by Jason Robert Brown.
Amara was the winner of the Recent Graduate Award at the 2019 Black British Theatre Awards. As the first actress of colour to play Cosette in LES MISERABLES, Amara won a Stage Debut Award for ‘Best Actress in a Musical’. Amara reprised this role as Cosette in the All-Star Les Misérables Concert Production, performing alongside fellow BYMT Alumni Bradley Jaden (Enjolras) and Luke McCall.
For BYMT, Amara appeared as Jamie in Out There (2011/2012).
