Information for Teachers

Teachers are extremely important to us as they inspire the creative development of young people in schools up and down the country. We offer a number of ways to support your teaching practice in schools, and we provide opportunities for teachers to work with us in the Easter and Summer school holidays.

Discover Music Theatre

Transforming arts provision in schools and communities through BYMT’s Discover Music Theatre experiences.

At BYMT we believe that every young person should have access to the performing arts and our way to reach those who don’t get opportunities to sing, make music, dance and act is through our DMT workshops in schools and community groups.

Auditions

All Discover Music Theatre workshops include a full audition. This means any of the young people who participate could be invited to perform in a BYMT production on a professional stage. Alternatively, if you have at least 5 pupils who wish to audition for BYMT as part of our national auditions tour, you can get 50% off audition fees with a group booking.

For information on how to book, please contact the BYMT office.

Pastoral Opportunities

We have a caring, patient and communicative pastoral team who work alongside our artistic and production staff to support our young people on each project.

With all our productions and summer camps taking place in the school holidays, a lot of our pastoral team is made up of those working in education and we welcome applications from anyone with experience of safeguarding and working with young people
