Mairi Campbell

Mairi Campbell is a singer and musician, born and raised in Edinburgh. Together with partner Dave Francis she forms traditional music group The Cast. Campbell is also the musical director of Sangstream, a folk song choir based in Edinburgh.

In recent years she has been awarded ‘Scots Singer of The Year’  and ‘Tutor of The Year’  at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. In 2008 she won the Live Ireland Music Award for ‘Best Female Musician of the Year’, as well as the award for ‘Best Composition of the Year’.  As a composer of both songs and instrumental music she has been a Burnsong winner, a recipient of the Niel Gow Composition Award, and was announced as 'Female Musician of The Year' by LiveIreland.
