Our People

Lee Freeman

After initially studying music at The BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology, Lee went on to further his training at the University of Surrey. Further training includes; Vocal Health First Aider.

As a composer Lee’s productions include; Proud (Turbine Theatre) Signposts and Diversions (Off-Broadway), Chat! (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Bent (Landor/Tabard Theatre), and Signposts and Diversions (Edinburgh Fringe),“The Music of Lee Freeman” Page to Stage Season, produced by Aria Entertainment. 

In 2011 and 2013, Lee was a finalist in the Stile’s and Drewe Best Song Award competition that recognises an outstanding song from a new musical written by a member of Mercury Music Developments. 

As well as a composer, Lee is also a much sought after and accomplished musical director and orchestrator.

Musical Director credits include;  Cool Rider (Lyric/Duchess Theatre – West End), Hairspray the Musical (Royal Caribbean), Copacabana (UK Tour), Spelling Bee (UK Tour), Sleeping Beauty (Theatre Royal Stratford East), Legally Blonde (Pleasance Theatre), Lucky Stiff (Sadlers Wells), Last Five Years (Chiswick Playhouse). 

Orchestration credits;  A Night For Jennifer (Lyric Theatre – West End), Duncan James Denise Van Outen and Claire Sweeney All Stars (Proud, Embankment), Cool Rider (Original Cast Recording and Live show), Moby Dick the Musical (Union Theatre), There Is More To Love (University of Oklahoma),  Chat! the Internet musical (Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and West End Bares (London).

Lee is also an esteemed vocal coach working for institutions such as Arts Education, Bird College, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the BBC.
