Julie Atherton is one of the West End's most versatile entertainers, with a distinctive voice and unmatched comic timing. Julie is best known for her stellar performing career, including her roles in Mamma Mia, Fame, Ordinary Days, Once Upon A Time at the Adelphi and tick, tick…BOOM!, as well as her long running success playing Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q.
As a recording artist, Julie has a growing catalogue of albums, her latest is Rush of Life and features Julie's favourite writers as well as a few surprises. The Preston-born star is well known as a supporter of new writing in musical theatre, something she also tries to showcase in her albums, and now joins the ranks of musical theatre directors who are developing new writing with companies such as Perfect Pitch and British Youth Music Theatre. Julie is really looking forward to working with BYMT for their upcoming production of A Teenage Opera.
