Anthony Underwood

Anthony is a Theatre Director based in London/Hampshire.

Recent theatre credits include: as director - Now. Here. This. (UK Premiere)(Golden Goose Theatre and Chiswick Playhouse), Traingle (George Wood Theatre), Tick, Tick... Boom! (Etcetera Theatre), Pippin (Edinburgh Fringe, Niddry St), Bare: A Pop Opera, Cabaret, Spring Awakening, RENT, The Hunger Games: The Musical (RHUL MTS) as assistant/associate - Cases (The Other Palace), Cinderella (dir. Michael Gyngell), Multiverse (dir. Michael Gyngell), Half a Sixpence (dir. James Robert Moore), Parade (dir. Hannah Chissick), The Jabberwocky (BYMT, dir. Luke Sheppard).

As a director, he specialises in family theatre and musicals, wanting to engage and unite new audiences in the magical world of theatre. His work involves telling vibrant stories that are full of creativity and life, working very closely with his collaborators, often interweaving the theatrical elements of music, movement, and design heavily into his work. His directing ethos follows the three branches that he believes great theatre consists of; to entertain, educate, and inspire.

He has worked in many venue capacities in the industry, from Off-West End to Regional and Fringe, and has most recently worked under well-established directors, Hannah Chissick, Luke Sheppard, Kate Golledge, and Michael Gyngell.
