Our Top 5 Superbands! - by Heather Welsh

Our patron James Bourne of Busted, his band and the guys from McFly have joined forces to form a superband!

Touring eleven dates in the UK, starting April next year, you will be able to see all of the boys of McFly and Busted (minus Charlie Simpson much to some fans disappointment) perform the classics from both bands including "Year 3000" and "All About You"’.

And with all this band merging madness happening so recently, it seems fitting we should take a look at the best bands combo we could dream up! Here at YMT we would love to see the merge of:

One Direction and ‘N Sync

Imagine the meeting of heartthrobs Harry Styles and Justin Timberlake! The screams from the combined fans may just reach a satellite in space… We reckon their combination of dance moves and hairstyles would be second to none!

Boyzone and Westlife

This Irish mega-band would see the Dublin boys together at last – they always seemed like part of the same band anyway! Just think of all those smooth vocals from "No Matter What" and "Seasons in the Sun" mixing together with the help of a few white suits and maybe some stools for them to sit on whilst singing!

Destiny’s Child and The Spice Girls

America’s biggest and best girl band (perhaps of all time?) meets the biggest girl band the UK has seen for a long time – yep we think a lot of people would fork out cash for that! Listening to "Say my Name" back-to-back with "Wannabe" would make some people very happy never mind what the mix of those nineties outfits and hairstyles would do for fashion!

Blur and Oasis

They’ve split opinions down the line for years now, you have to choose either one Britpop band or the other, but imagine if you didn’t have to anymore! This would be the perfect band to bring friends together and show that the biggest band rivals in the UK can get along whilst rocking out too! Thing is, we’re not sure Liam and Graham will agree to it…

Blue and Five

They were also certainly rivals at the time, but do you remember who was the smooth group and who was meant to be a bit more edgy? Who cares, those who had a crush on Rich from Five and Simon from Blue can see them complete dance routines together whilst singing a combination of "If Ya Gettin’ Down" and "One Love"! Great!
