For Parents

At British Youth Music Theatre our aim is to offer all young people an amazing creative, fun and educational musical theatre experience, and we are committed to ensuring that they are able to do this in a safe environment. We have oportunities for young performers, young instrumentalists and young technicians/wardrobe. The following information will give you an idea of how we do this.

Whether you have a question, concern, complaint, or you want to tell us what a great job we’re doing, your feedback enables us to constantly review and improve the services that we provide to young people. Please contact: or call 020 8563 7725.

We have four streams of activity for young people to get involved with, take a look at the information and FAQs for parents and participants below as well as our full Guide for Young People and Parents, or if you have any further questions email or give us a call and we’ll direct you to the most relevant member of our team for advice.

Although restrictions have mostly been lifted on 19 July we are still taking the welfare of our staff, young people and families seriously. Please read our Covid-19 Charter here. The essentials are that we will be asking all young people to take a Lateral Flow Test the day before they join the project and we will be testing them all again two days into the project. As much as possible, the whole group will remain as a bubble throughout the project until the days of performance.

“Thank you BYMT, our son has gained so much in terms of self-confidence and tuition, which he doesn't get locally. You just can't buy that kind of invaluable experience and such a huge learning curve for all involved.”
